Founded in 1921, Elim Pentecostal Church Leigh was the first Elim Church in England. It became the centre of a work that stretched across East Anglia and played host to such great Christian giants as Smith Wigglesworth and George Jeffreys |
|
|
The building was bombed during the war but the work of the church continued amongst the servicemen billeted in the town, providing for both their spiritual and practical needs. A new building was erected in 1950 and the Church’s ministry to children especially mushroomed. The 70s too saw tremendous growth with regular ‘Power, Praise and Healing’ meetings. |

Times change and the way we do things now is vastly different from 1921 or even 1975 but the message of Jesus Christ and His gospel remains the same. |
