My story by PaulineHello my name is Pauline and I’ve been a Christian for over 30 years. I came from a non-Christian background, however I was always sent to Sunday School.
I became more interested in what Jesus did for me, and wanted to learn more. I accepted Jesus as my personal Saviour when I was 14 years old. I soon became involved with children’s work helping with Sunday School and beach mission work.
Life has not been easy for me. I’m not perfect and I had my ups and downs. I may have drifted away from time to time, but I have found that God was always there, ready to forgive.
My story really starts when I lost my daughter in 2004. I found it hard to attend church or find anyone who would support me through the dark times. When I did go to a local church they told me I was angry with God for taking her too soon, but I feel her life was testimony to me and to others. I dealt with this the only way I could, by staying away and waiting for God to lead me to a place of worship.
My son tried to encourage me back into fellowship, asking me to go along with him to Leigh Elim Church. At first I was not prepared to go, although I still believed and loved Jesus, knowing that He was with me and had a purpose for me.
I feel that what God was doing with my life was waiting for me to be ready to make that decision. I eventually decided that I would go with my son to church and see if this was where God wanted me. I have been attending Leigh Elim now for nearly a year and God has really moved in my life. He has shown me that this where He wants me to be, to have fellowship.
Knowing Jesus has be the best move I ever made. Having a real relationship with Him and knowing that He died so that my sins could be forgiven is amazing.
John 14 verse 6 says that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, and that no one can come to the Father except through Him.
You too can come and know Him as your personal Saviour. Nothing is too hard for Jesus. He can and will forgive you today.
If reading this has made you wonder where you stand with God, you can do something about it right now.
Here is a simple prayer that will help you to be sure that your sins are forgiven:
Dear Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you that you died on the cross for me. I am really sorry for all the bad things I have done in my life. Please forgive me and clean up my life. I ask you to come into my life, help me to live it from now to please you, and be a real Christian. |
