A week in the life of.....

So they have been and gone. But what a week!

 

When the Korean Prayer Mission Team arrived I said that having them here wasn't the highlight, nor was it having them pray for us but what God would do through those prayers.

 

Some things are obvious: the passion that has been stirred up amongst our young folks as they experienced powerful young role models. The team consisted of one 16 year old several 18 year olds and a mum and her mid 35 year old son. Our interpreter Yeseul was amazing, despite being in pain and being ill, she worked tirelessly.

 

Proverbs 27:17 

 

17 As iron sharpens iron,
    so one person sharpens another.

 

We might be or I might be a bit old and rusty but when we rub shoulders together with each other we will stir each other to greater feats of grace. This has been the case this week, I have leant so much from Pastor Jun and his team and I know they have gone home knowing they have been challenged and encouraged. Another amazing connection across thousands of miles with a fantastic Korean church.

 

We have just about commandeered Facebook with all the posts and shares of videos, photos and stories. 

 

Our leaders breakfast was a success with our local MP Sir David attending and allowing the team to pray for him again. 

 

We had a riotous praise party on Sunday night, apparently other teams in other churches across the country were intimidated by local residents to keep the noise down to a whisper....not us. God moved in power in the lives of young and old, youngsters on  their faces crying out to God in tears, older folks repenting and crying out to God and dancing, flag waving and high Praise to Jesus our amazing Saviour.

 

Pastor Jun said he had been in ministry 10 years and had never prayed for so many people. He was amazed at the passion we had for our Saviour.

 

So that was just this week. The effect of this week will be felt for months to come as we stretch out our tent pegs Isaiah 54:2. We already own the land, stretching the tent is making more room for Him to move. That's expectation, I am expectant about what He will do this year. It won't be what I imagine: Ephesians 3:20 New International Version (NIV) 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. What will it look like? I have no idea but I know I have to take my hands off the tiller and let the Holy Spirit drive the church into the future.
